Artist's Description
I awoke early one morning dreaming the sun was setting. On the sun was a penguin. A bird that cannot fly. These two symbols of waining creativity and the dream itself were alarming enough to pastel paint it instantly. At the end of the painting, with no thought but a gesture I put the snake in. This instantly transformed the picture and also my feeling. I had always worked as a nurse or in related fields but suddenly I couldn't do it anymore..I was on a new path exploring intuition. I had done all things as I felt I had to. Intuition had been there all my life guiding and showing me the truth. I just didn't know I could live by it. I had begun to think about what work I would pursue in the future. It was the thinking again that was the old way and the dream showed me very clearly in its feeling and image where this would lead. The snake came out of my intuitive being and I knew this is what I must follow. Daily I did only what intuitively felt right. I photographed my work first. Then...
